Dear Customers, We would just like to confirm that we have aquired the spares and the Myford Name and Moulds to reproduce the machines, and will be offering a Myford E-Commerce website in approx 3-4 months, This will run seperate from RDGTools,
Parts for this Myford Company will be made in the UK as before.
Well apparanetly RDG tools in Mytholmroyd have bought all the necessary moulds to make the machines, and also the Myford name so it seems they may make a go of running the company how it should have been. Hopefully see some modernisation of the machines and some more competitive pricing. Maybe also the small scale revival of the machine tool industry that was so great in that part of Yorkshire at one time.
I presume they will outsource the manufacture to China or India, perhaps just to sell replacement parts?
It's doubtful anything would be of the same quality as the originals
Hopefully see some modernisation of the machines and some more competitive pricing.
I wouldn't like to place a bet on that as CNC is the future of machining and can do the job in half the time with the same precision as time served machinist.
I'm surprised at all the negative comments regarding RDG's purchase of a significant portion of Myford.
The company isn't a small outfit now.
