Not really a professional spray gun but useful for primer etc
I was thinking of a way to apply epoxy primer (could also be used for other paints, waxoyl etc.) into an open chassis section.
I had an old paraffin gun ( like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-SA...873293?hash=item2caff8b5cd:g:nxcAAOSwENxXlhfi ) which had the cannister rusted out.
I took a 50cl water bottle, put a hole in the cap and slid it on to the pick up tube.
I fitted a length of tubing so the pick up tube would reach to the bottom of the bottle.
Filled the bottle with epoxy (or whatever you want to spray) and, hey presto, an injection spray gun with a disposable canister for peanuts! If I made an air tight seal on the top it would have created the same effect as the PPS system, and will probably work at any angle etc. I will try that next time but it seemed to do quite well without.
I sprayed into box sections, both horizontal and vertical, seams and panels and after spraying just stuck some thinners through and threw away the bottle. I could have reused the bottle as it was that clean. Worked even better than I was hoping.
I wasn't fussed about the finish as it's either inside box sections or in places where I will need to seam seal or fill.
