Hi
I'm relatively new to welding, but I'm progressing well. I am currently teaching myself with the help of YouTube and a 120A arc welder (£35 from Lidl ) and an old crappy gasless SIP MIG that I picked up at a car boot and repaired. I'm enjoying it a lot and I'm really looking forward to progressing further, but I'm pretty sure the equipment I have is limiting me massively in what I can do. I have a few projects lined up, things like a couple of decent workbenches, a frame for a belt grinder, a roof rack for my van etc.
So, I'm looking to purchase a half decent MMA Inverter, I've had my eye on the Parweld XTS162 160A (£245 inc. TIG torch) in particular. I am also looking at getting a more reliable and powerful MIG, I've been considering something like a secondhand Cebora (I've seen a few of these on EBay going for around £220-340). However, I've recently been looking at some "3-in-1" multipurpose inverters, and thought maybe one of these would be a reasonable option considering price, size and portability, and my welding requirements. One that has stood out is the SIP HG2300MP (£500). I've also seen a cheaper option from a company called TigMig, the TigMig 232 (about £300 new on eBay), but I have no idea of the quality or capabilities of these kind of machines and I'm looking for any advice of what option to take or any recommendations of what products to look at.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
P.s. This is my first post on a forum, so please let me know if I've not posted under the correct category or whatever. Cheers.
