Just getting the documents ready to go of to our house in France next week for just over a month and I found the MoT on my rusty Trooper runs out two days before we're due back. Would you MoT it now and risk it failing, cut the holiday short by a couple of days or risk getting caught by an ANPR camera somewhere? I could have sworn it didn't run out until August.
Anyway, I've decided to service it and give it a good going over tomorrow which I was going to do anyway and risk putting it in for a test on Wednesday morning, which gives me a couple of days to put anything it may fail on right. I could have sworn it wasn't due until the end of August,
It had an advise on play in bottom ball joints last year, it's done about 12K miles since but according to the manual they are designed to have a certain amount of play in them so I'm gonna take the manual in case they try and fail it on them with them in spec. To be on the safe side I've ordered a set from Milners anyway as they're only sixteen quid a side but they won't be here until afterwards. My big worry is a fail on some welding as the weather isn't conducive to welding outside at the moment and something like a rusty brake pipe as they are a bit and a pig to get apart. Oh and the handbrake (disk) will need adjusting as it's marginal at best.
Another load of work I could do without this week!
