I've got a Sip 150 dual purpose with a metal liner and the wire feed brace 'mods' which i've got to grips with using gasless wire. Thick stuff is no problem and I can stich weld down to about 1.5mm thickness ok. I'm after doing a bit of car bodywork which will be thinner than 1.5mm which mine struggles with.
So...the question is do I add another transformer to the wire feed on the Sip to smooth it out and use gas, or i've been looking at a Clarke pro 90 to use with gas just for thin stuff?
Will the modified Sip do as well as the Clarke on thin stuff or am I wasting my time modifying it and just buy the Clarke and have 2 welders?
