Hello,
I have just completed my first mig welding project which is a garage work bench and now want to finish it off with paint but I am not sure best way to approach it.
The steel is hot rolled so has a coating of mill scale on it, do I need to remove all of this first or would cleaning it down with some methylated spirits be ok?
I used a grinder to remove some of the scale before welding but flap discs do not seem to last long when doing this and I don't really want to use any acids. I was planning to use Hammerite Spray paint.
Regards,
David.
