Hello,
I found this forum while searching for a solution to the fault my welder has developed, and I'm hoping someone on here might be able to give me some pointers on things to check...
The problem is that as soon as the welder is turned on the wire feed motor runs and the gas solenoid opens before the torch switch pressed.
When the torch switch is pressed, the wire feed motor stops but the gas solenoid stays open, the gas solenoid only closes when the thing is turned off.
The welder has spot and stitch settings (that I have never used) but it makes no difference where that switch is set to, it also makes no difference where the voltage selector switch is set to.
I have metered out the torch switch and it is ok, I have also disconnected the torch from the welder altogether to see if that makes a difference but it didn't.
I cant see any thing really obvious like a disconnected wire or blackened part of the PCB, so starting to struggle with what to check next, is it likely that the PCB is dead?
Any help much appreciated as I can't afford a new welder.
Thanks,
Oliver.
