Both well known brands with good reputations, for their products take into consideration, machine features, model (inverter/transformer?), price and the most important thing a good local backup service service.
The reason I am asking is, I replaced a Lincoln 231c I had owned for three years, as I have a Miller Dynasty 280 ac/dc machine, so decided to go all blue a few weeks ago, bought a Miller MigMatic 220 dx, whatever I do I can not get it to weld anything like the Lincoln, the first issue was, the tube infront of the drive rollers was not fitted correctly, the tube was leaving a mark on the drive roller, this was wearing away the tube slighlty, this issue was making it weld really poorly, adjusted the tube, which improved the machine alot, I am still not happy with the way it welds, also I had to run a tap through one of the front holes under the welder, as I could not screw in one of the front castors, I have swapped the welders over earlier, I need to do a job tomorrow, I will be much happier with the old Lincoln, I know how it welds, very well
It looks like my welder was made on a Friday afternoon, or somebody who has just been sacked!
Cheers Dave
