Dont agree that they are gimmicky,
Production welders arnt kind to torches and the shroud litteraly gets hammerd on sometimes, you wont get it off with a gloved hand and shroud portion of the pliers make it a hell of a lot easier.
Makes getting tips/adapters off a lot easier/quicker too.
Theyre only like 8 quid anyway and mine have lasted about 3 years now.
Yes, same here, the shrouds on the push/pull gets extremely hot due to the Alu welding I do and if I need the shroud off I need to use the pliers or let it cool down for 5mins before I can get it off. Yes I could probably use normal pliers but they cost as much and are not so versatile.
