I haven't had much chance to look at it yet except to say that the head is going to need some serious TLC, but I want to use the drill quite quickly, so I think the way forward is a head transplant
The plan is to buy a pillar or pedestal drill with the Pacera MF4 head, preferably with a gearbox but not essential as long as it all functions. I renovate the base of the radial drill then transplant the head off the working machine until I can finish off the original. Then I tidy up the donor machine, stick its head back on and flog it.
It turns out that the drill was originally green hammerite, no way am I putting that back on. So seeing as Meddings seem to come in all colours, especially grey, I think it will end up being Colchester Dove grey, but it could be Tom Senior Green, either way it will be one or the other seeing as I have both a Colchester and a couple of Tom Seniors.
