hi all. I'm looking to do some reading that will give me a nice, fairly detailed overview of metallurgy in welding, without disappearing into too much chemistry (if possible)
Just wondering if anyone could recommend any books for me.
Specific to aluminium and, while it touches on metallurgy, more about the practical side of things but The Welding of Aluminium and its alloys by Gene Mathers is another good one. Not cheap if you want a hard copy but it's pretty much impossible to search for a legit copy without stumbling over a bunch of free pdfs...
Lincoln also sells a big book, called Procedure Handbook "Fourteenth Edition".
I bought it from USA (big mistake), together with other book from them.
It's not bad and full of interesting things about welding.
