if its owt like the rawlplug ones for drill sharpening and other things there crap I chucked a new one away I only give a tenner for it .what a waste
I have one & it puts a good edge on drill bits though it only covers 3 to 10mm. It does tend to leave a burr but that's easily removed with a lidl diamond needle file. The instructions are pants & it took some thinking before working out how to set up the drill clamping jig & that you turn the whole jig over to sharpen the other cutting edge - I was removing the bit & turning it over .
I did use mine for grinding TIG tungstens but that wore out the diamond wheel. I've swapped to the spare wheel & I'm back to doing the tungstens on the bench grinder!
As for doing chisels - not a good job as it leaves the chisel slope concave instead of flat. I only use it for an old chisel I use as a scraper but keep it away from your set of Marples or Ashley Iles chisels. It could be use for squaring up a damaged chisel then finish it on an oilstone.
Hi, Have just bought one of these "Lidl Sharpening Stations" but when I sharpen bits they only cut in reverse. As you say the instructions are absolute rubbish but I followed them ie put bit in holder and move it up against the metal then put it in the sharpener but what position should I have the clamping jig in relation to the two arrows and the positioning of the bit against the wheel (I read in another answer that it only need a second or so to become sharp?) Should the jig be to the left or upright. Hope you don't mind me picking your brain, but being in Spain at present and my Spanish not be good enough yet to converse techie things, I'm stumped. Cheers Harry The Spida
Not sure what you mean about arrows, it's been a while since I used mine. I'll have a look later on & report back. Here are some youtube links that might help.
