Got a gas bottle stove project on the go to learn arc welding. The first picture is my attempt at welding the hinge piece (a small section of steel bar) to the side of the gas bottle. Only a small part of the weld actually contacted both parts. That was with 2.5mm Overcord 6013.
The second picture is my attempt at fixing that, but using 3.2mm version of the same rod. I found this much easier, and I think it's because more filler metal was going in to the weld. Or perhaps the technique improved. I'd welcome your views, as always.
