Hi guys I am looking for some advice. One of my sets of shocks on my truck are rebuildable King Shocks, the shafts have surface pitting which will destroy the seals if I try to use them
http://www.kingshocks.com/downloads/content/KingShocks_Catalog_PartsReturn.pdf
its part number 29 Shaft (7/8" Thread / 16" Travel)
The shocks are American made. I am assuming the shock shafts are steel with a chrome coating. I was wondering if it would be possible to have new shafts made from Stainless Steel (wont need chroming) and do you think it would be cost effective ? The price of stainless shaft on fleabay is not that high but its the machining I have no idea on
To buy replacements from the USA is about $85 each plus shipping
The truck is now back home and I am tearing it down over the winter for a rebuild
