Had a punt on a lathe, in a machinery auction over the weekend, but sadly it went above what I was willing to pay for it based on what I’d found on eBay and lathes.co.uk. It was a Granville Senior, apparently a loose copy of the ML7?
Anywho..it’s not going to be used excessively, but the nearest machine shop that can fit us in last minute when something breaks is an 80 mile round trip, which is half the day gone once we get the bushing or pin turned.
Budgeting £500 all in ideally, but could stretch to £600 at the end of April if really required. I know it won’t buy much, but a 3” would be plenty big enough - most of what it will be used for it turning 1” pins.
Does anyone have a recommendation, or even a working lathe available in budget?
Thanks
