My Grandaughter has been abusing her laptop charger to the extent the plug connections broke.
I have managed to dismantle the plug, desolder the old cables and resolder the lead into place, it works fine but I suspect in time she will destroy it again.
The repair was easy but I am now up against the 'wotsit' as shown in the photo and any further repairs would require removing it to access the run of cable beyond it.
What is it?
Is it essential?
Will it damage the laptop if it does not exist?
The neighbourhood local idiot expert advice is 'just dump it it's now't important', I think I would rather trust those in the know on here than take that advice.
