Hi all. I have a kitcar chassis that I'm looking to recoat. It's approx 17 years old but has never been on the road so is all good metal. It has however been (badly) brush painted.
I'm not overly keen on powder coat although if someone gave me a glowing reference for somewhere in Scotland I'd be open to reconsider.
So. I think I'm heading towards a sandblast to remove the old paint. Either lechler or em121 epoxy primer then a top coat. I like the choice of colours in the rustoleum combicolor paints but are they any good? Will the combicolor go over the epoxy ok? The data sheets say to use their primer obviously.
Or should I be looking elsewhere for a top coat? Any recommendations? I have spraying equipment but I don't want to deal with iso 2k paints. Something that's durable and looks decent. Most of the chassis won't be seen but wishbones etc will.
Cheers in advance for any help
Steve
