I've used several different sets with 'on torch' control. They are something that takes a bit of getting used to. Most torches with controls moulded into the handle are manufacturer specific and usually fixed head. Using a fixed head torch on positional work can be a problem in itself, add to that the problem of having to hold the torch in such a way as to be able to operate the switches and it all gets a bit awkward. If you set supports torch control then you can make a much more user friendly torch by mounting mini switches to a standard flexi head torch.
Fletch/Busa; I've been using a kemppi with the same torch for the last 2yrs, I did find it awkward at first, but now like it better than the other types I use.
The machine is water cooled and I have fitted a flex head, although it isn't as mobile as non-cooled flex heads, we'll have at see how it holds up.
The last unit I had did have a foot pedal, and it was handy, but only when sat at a bench, I have needed to use it while laid on the floor between my legs, using my elbow etc etc. And its a pain.
Thought the hand adjustment would be handy, and at 50quidish Im going to get one
