With the brands you have posted in the title you'll have no problems ,I'm Bouncing all over at the moment looking for a ac dc tig.
What experiences have you had good or bad
Jesus that's a lot of brass for a pcbI was discussing TIGS with the guy who does the bodywork demo's at the NEC restoration show and he was moaning that the Miller they had was 14 months out of warranty and the replacement board they needed was going to cost 70% of the price of a brand new machine.
I mentioned that I was using an R tech AC/DC TIG and he was considering buying one as a replacement.
Have you thought about EWM tetrix 2300 in your short list. I have had some good arc time with the older triton which I found to be quite brilliant to say the least. My next machine will most probably the tetrix and it's a grand cheaper than the magicwave 2200 which is another on the top of my short list.Budget £3k give or take
3ph supply
200-300 amp
My short list is t220 dynasty 200dx and mls2300
I'm leaning toward the kemppi or Miller then t220 at the moment
I don't know, I do know he was not a happy bunny!Jesus that's a lot of brass for a pcb
Is that fitted or just ordered.
It would have been 4 years and 2 months old as Millers come with a 3 year warranty,I'm not surprised I'd be pretty peeved if I had to fork out the equivalent to a new machine 2 1/2 years after buying it.
This is the reason I'm asking the questions. Anybody repaierd a kemppi out of warrenty?I know a replacement main board for a dynasty 350 is €4000 here.and not repairable by anyone
It would have been 4 years and 2 months old as Millers come with a 3 year warranty,
3 years + the 14 months out of warranty.
Unfortunately they can all go wrong I'm afraid even the very best ones and I would not think that buying a kemppi or lorch is going to make any difference. Miller is one of the worlds very best and yes I do think that is extortionate for a pcb but the others won't be far off that cost either. I don't think you should be trying make your choice based on horror stories with these brands as I'm sure they will all have a couple been told about them. You should be going out and demoing them and make the choice on the one you like the best. This is the reason I'm asking the questions. Anybody repaierd a kemppi out of warrenty?
If your using regular for work. this should have easy paid for its self.
However I'd still like to think if I've looked after a high quality tool they are "serviceable"
3 years is good, still a bit gutted for him that's an unfortunate pop!!!It would have been 4 years and 2 months old as Millers come with a 3 year warranty,
3 years + the 14 months out of warranty.
