I'm planning on building a shelter to keep our kayaks in as they should be kept out of direct light and having them in the garage is doing my head in!
I've drawn the rough shape below. I'm thinking of building it out of timber with 4" posts in the corners. The nearest corner in the pic wont have a post as that will make it difficult to get the kayaks out (they're 16'). Instead the post will be set in a few feet along the front where the middle line is in the pic. Other than that I've not really any idea as I've never built anything like this before. I hope to keep it open sided but may end up panelling the long side to keep sunlight out. I'd like to make the roof watertight should I choose to close the sides in to make it more weatherproof as it may also double as a wood store in the future. The stone wall is no good for any kind of fixing so although it'll be a kind of lean to it needs to be a self supporting structure. It'll be around 16' long, 4'6" wide, 6' high.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Pete
