For making up small quantities I was advised by SML to use weight not the ratio method.
Using syringes is by far the least messiest method of extracting both comp A and B, and less wastage too. Syringes can be re used within several days of first usage.
In respect to the paint curing with a "near enough" method, although as you say it will cure, this period I find can be far longer irrespective of film thickness but more reliant on correct measurements of comp A and B.
