is that inside or out Paul ? or again in a workshop with the doors open IE 'wind tunnel', some times when its really windy it can make a big difference to the gas requirements, I saw one bloke that had a massive fan blowing to where he was welding, to 'save' him from the fumes trouble was his welds weren't 'saved' he couldnt understand why he was getting crap welds he turned up the gas by double trouble is it probably cost more in cyl of gas, than a cheap air fed.15-20 LPM

I am trying to figure out how I can use SGS over here. The prob that concerns, is if someone carring a bottle on a ferry will get hassle, even if it is inert, because of the pressure.
I have some SS TIG work coming up in the next year, but the local rental charges will take a chunk out of the profit, while a rent free idea sounds better, except we don't have such an animal here. Just buying small bottles at 300 plus.
Hi,
You should not have any problem with an Argon cylinder in your car on the ferry, you might like to print a safety data sheet from the FAQ page of our website to show anybody who might question you about it.
Oxygen sometimes causes problems but Argon should be fine.
SGS has plans to sell to Europe in the not to distant future so watch this space.

Anyone else upgraded from a 10l bottle to a 20l? Its even cheaper per litre & the deposit is only a small amount more!

That looks to be OK for inert welding gasses, as long as declared and under 200 bar.Check with the ferry company, most compressed gas cylinders have to be declared - link
