I’m thinking of investing in a TIG machine probably for aluminium up to 6mm. Like to be able to do Land Rover panels and 240 volt machine that does 200amps? I’ve got a hold of a water cooler unit off an electron microscope that I was hoping to convert and use if I have to.
I have a ESAB caddy MIG and it’s a great wee machine, but it wasn’t cheap and it puts the fear of god into me if it breaks. I had a new board in it under warranty. I bought a cheap Chinese plasma cutter before and it was absolute junk.
I guess I’m torn between waiting and picking up a good second and machine like a Lorch, EWM or Fronius or do I go for something like new like a Parweld. Budget I guess is between £1000-1500. I would rather buy something that will be quality and last, I look after my tools as I’ve learnt to respect them as I’ve had to pay for them out of my pocket.
Thanks
