Hi all, i'm knew here and i'm sure you've had this question a million times, but what is a good budget (i don't mean 'fail immediately' cheap crap) welder for bronze?
I'm a sculptor who makes bronze casts which usually always require some form of touch up. I have a small Clarke Easi-Arc 115 for steel which was very cheap and so far has been brilliant although I haven't pushed it much.
Also what is the difference between actually welding and brazing? is brazing aesthetic where as welding has actual strength?
I have looked through a lot of the threads on here but can't find specific answers so hope it's cool that I post this.
My budget is £400-450 inc all accessories.
I'm currently considering the Clarke AT150
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-at150-150amp-arc-tig-inverter-welder
and hope to run it off domestic supply.
bronze arc rods would obviously be the best soultion (or easiest?) but I can't seem to find any, or at least not the right type? I am using silicon bronze so need the rods to match
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Ara
