Hello,
I'm looking for an inverter to replace my cheap AC arc welder.
I've got 180amp mig welder which I'm happy with but was given this cheap arc welder and I've got be honest I much prefer stick welding, it's more engaging.
I know for somethings you can't beat a mig welder (paper thin car sills etc).
I was looking at a Inverter Fusion 130, looks good for I want, I dont really need to burn any thing bigger than 3.2mm rods, it'll run off 13amp socket and the duty cycle is one the best.
But I need to be able to weld stainless steel which need anything between 50OCV and 70OCV depending what you read. Looking at the spec sheet for the IF130 figures are 56OCV the IF160 is the same and then the IF180 is 92OCV which definitely has a high enough OCV.
I haven't any experience with stainless steel rods, so i dont want buy an inverter only to find out I can't weld stainless!!
Many thanks
Matt
