Ive got some aluminium extrusion here (the stuff i was on about a week or so ago).
It has an 8.5mm hole down the centre, which must be for tapping to an M10 x 1.5 thread.
...which is all well and good, but even an allen cap M10 head is 16mm dia, which is larger than i can (conveniently) fit.
It does not need m10 for strength - im wondering what my easiest / cheapest way of reducing the thread is? I dont mind a few mins labor on each one, but i dont want to be spending ponds. I need to do a number of these, so it has to be neat and repeatable (ie no gluing nuts in etc)
m4 would be ample for the strength - probably even m3
