I am talking about proper chips, like these, no chance of them getting snaffled up togetherYes I try to get it in 1 inch curls but the problem is all those curls stick together making stringy swarf lol.

Not always possible of course but crank the feed up with a decent DOC and most materials will chip.

Flood coolant can help fracture the swarf sometimes but obviously that brings mess with it so sometimes not an option for people, compressed air may help, never tried it but the cooling may do the same thing as flood.Ah yes. I don’t see those often.
I do get lovely 20-30mm long curlers on nice machinable metals with a decent high rake insert.
Aluminium is painful mind. That stuff machines so beautifully with a sharp tool but the swarf just doesn’t break. Any tips on how to rectify this without changing my finish?
Not an option for me, as soon as I am in the door in pops someone, quite often they are standing there waitingI tend to leave everything scattered about at the end of the day, then tidy up the following morning, I find it gives me 10 minutes thinking time about what I'm going to do that day.
Hopefully soon I will be back to making chips. Few more bits to do. Then a real good tidy up as my place is a right mess.

At the weekends when I try to go in and mess around with my own stuff I have to park my car away from the workshop and keep the doors closed, I have even had the Fishermen climbing over the locked gate and chapping on the locked door
And they are not even small gates, here is a Google maps pic of them.
