and I have narrowed my choice down to three:
This is my first choice R-Tech 160 amp AC/DC TIG which comes in at £1050 and I have this saved up.
My second choice, and I would need to wait a couple more weeks, is this one R-Tech 170 amp Digital because it is £1295, another £250. BUT there is a third contender and it is this one R-Tech 200 amp non Digital, so no Power Factor Correction and coming in at £1380, pushing the boat out pretty far really. The digital equivalent is just a TIG welder too far, I cannot afford it.
Yes, I realise there are consumables to factor in but I have taken the gas bottle into consideration and I already have a suitable helmet.
The main use for the machine is lightweight steel sheet (.5 and .75mm) bit of Stainless very occasionally and of course lightweight aluminium fabrication. But all small components. All of my work is on the small side of things. Okay, so once in a while I am going to need to weld up a new bench or a hanging basket for the boss but this machine is for home. I have access to a big Mig set for any heavy fabrication I need to do.
Which one would you guys buy? And do you have any other suggestions? Thank you all for your time.
