I received my Honeywell supplied air respirator and connected it up to the compressor today via the breathing air filters and a 1.5m hose.
The compressor is a full size 3hp 150 litre 14 CFM beast.
I set the pressure to the minimum required to stop the whistle blowing, approx 60 psi (I tought these whistles go off at 10psi ?).
The compressor kicks in and the tank pressure is very slowly dropping, i.e. the pump is supplying just a little less than the mask is taking.
The mask is the same as the Devilbiss MPV.
I know people are saying that you need more than one compressor to keep up with the spray gun and mask, but no one said it's quite this tight. I bought a second small 9CFM compressor which just about keeps up with the spray gun. So I am literally maxing out the compressors, they will be running at 100% though which is above their duty cycle.
