right I have just finished building a welder out of two rewound microwave transformers. I have 12VAC open circuit and a dead short current of 540 amps
get an arc current of up to 300 amps depending on how steady I am. I have so far managed to weld steel nails together and melt a stanley blade into a twisted pile of slag.
so thinking that this is relativley good for spot welding and possibly arc? can anyone suggest a good starting project on which to test my capabilities I have a mask and gloves just not sure where to start really. was thinking of a stand or something to hold a cable drum would this sound like an idea? if so anyone got an idea where to start?
