Anybody having problems get gas from Hobbyweld? I've just called my local supplier who tells me there is a nationwide problem and cannot get a delivery date from them?
I'm just getting started. ATM I need enough for a car resto, then just the odd job welding angle here and there.
For extra detail on pricing, the pressure needs to be considered too. (Volumes quoted are from respective suppliers sites and don't always seem to comply with physics )
Hobbyweld 9litre bottle is filled to 137bar, so you get 1340 litres of (?!) gas for (let's say) £50 - 3.73p/litre.
BOC Y (20litre) filled to 230bar, 5020 (?!) litres for £33.38 - 0.66p/litre.
Adams 20litre filled to 200bar, 4000 litres for £69.60 - 1.74p/litre.
Okay so I've got the Volkszone pre-contract set up and have found an agent much closer to home than Hobbyweld.
Sooooo..........Argoshield light or universal?
Hi PDG, I know this is an old post (just a little bit) but you'll be able to draw a more accurate comparison using the cubic gas capacity of the cylinders.Or, you could do it time based, say you run 10lpm, then:
Hobbyweld = 37.3 pence/minute
Adams = 17.4 pence/minute
BOC = 6.6 pence/minute
Disposable bottles from halfords = £2.50/minute
