Thats the contactor that gets it going when you press the switch. Check that the coil is OK, cos if burned out, might be your prob. contacts for coil usually down the side, while connections for switching in rows on top.
more testing and i think i have found the problem!
its the torch wiring!! woop! i checked the contacts there an open circuit
how i found this out was a process of elimination undone the little plastic screw covering up the contacts for the gun. the button is fine i receive a resistance from that
i have received a email from Sealey regarding the cutter and they found me some part numbers which could be handy. its in a pdf....
I have also poped the question to see if they have the gun and cabling for this type or if they have something similar i could retro fit to if from a newer model , ya never know! ay ! i might just be lucky ill let you know if i find anything out!
Strip the torch right down and find the fault. Might be the switch itself, if so, replace with a micro switch and lash it to the outside of the torch. At least it would get the unit working.
hi chaps i feel abit stupid really i have over looked somthing on the torch head its self ( see pic)
There is x2 small pins protruding from the head I thought when i first saw them it was something to do with the casting process, when it was made i had know idea it was something to do with the electrodes which wires leading from the micro switch , which by the way has absolutely nothing wrong with it
Now i have come to the conclusion that there is suppose to be some kind of shroud which goes over the top of it all which clearly make the connection for the gun to work! , but on the plus side i did discover the switch was broken so its now fixed woop!!
