Hello people.
Found this site a couple of hours ago. It comes under the title of EYE OPENER. Have been looking at welders on ebay and the likes of b&q/screwfix etc. Thought I had sussed out which one to purchase until I found this site.
My basics are as such,
Welding experience is mainly (cough)20 years ago at college with arc/gas and mig.
My needs are something that is easy to use and move around (lack of mobility). Will be working with mild steel mostly. Thickness of metal will be 1mm to 3mm approx.
Cost wise, as cheap as possible. Am on the most limited budget you could imagine so need to be tight.
I was looking at gasless for the cost factor. It will only be used for a small amount of work each year so I refuse to spend more than I need to.
I believe a lot of people look down on gasless for reasons of poor weld etc, is this a reality ?
My way of thinking is,
I need 30-130amps with at least 4 power settings.
Does anything spring to mind ? Any help will be better than none, so please don't be shy.
Many thanks for reading.
Sean.
