Greetings all!
I've only just joined this forum, merely to see if I can find the solution to my poorly welder - it's an Eland Mig 130, which I bought a few years ago secondhand. I have no idea how old it is.
It hasn't missed a beat for five or six years but yesterday the wire feed stopped completely. I turned all the knobs and checked the drive roller. Everything else seems fine - the fan runs and the trigger releases gas, the only thing wrong seems to be the wire feed. The big black relay (I assume that's what it is!) seems to click properly with the trigger but I have no idea whether the feed motor is getting power or if it's knackered. Before I go poking around in there with a multi-meter, I thought I'd seek advice first!
Whilst I can strip and rebuild most things, I have to admit I know next to nothing about what goes on inside a mig welder, hence appealing for help on here!
I've already found a couple of other threads on here, all a couple of years old, about an Eland Mig 130 but, sadly, none with my problem. What I have learned is that my mig is regarded as being pretty bulletproof, which has pleased me!
Could I please have some advice from anyone who knows even a tiny bit more than I do?
Many thanks in advance.
Ed
