Hello to all forum users from sunny Sheffield, U.K.!
I completed a Lvl 1 MMA welding course, and then a Lvl 1 MIG welding course at evening sessions in college in 2022/23. This was just for fun and to learn new skills, not with the explicit intent of working in industry.
I completed all exam pieces for Lvl 1 MIG in 4 sessions, so spent the rest of the time doing Lvl 2 welding such as verticals and tube welding. I also did some metal fab. practice and learned how to use an Oxy. torch. All great fun!
I am looking into buying my first machine.... So much choice.
I've narrowed it a bit to several options (listed in escalating cost...) -
Sealey IMIG 160 (these seem to be out of stock all over, so not sure if there is an issue....)
Paton MIG 160
R Tech 181 MIG
I'm also discussing the fitting of a protected 32A commando socket with my electrician solely for use with the machine.
