Hi,
I'm new to welding, but have been around it for the last 28 years as a structural steelwork draughtsman.
Now I run my own company supplying steel frames, mostly to the film industry.
Always wanted to be able to join in on the fabrication / erection side of things , so I have been steadily building my tool kit, and the only thing missing was a welding set.
Gone straight in at the deep end and bought the Esab rebel , and I'm loooking forwards to delivery on Monday and having a play with it.
Picked up a mig torch for the first time yesterday in one of the fabricators that I use to make my steel and laid a few fillet welds. Must say I was fairly impressed with my first go, although I did blow a long slot in the wall of a 50 X 3 wall box section.
I'm sure I'm going to be on here a lot asking questions and reading up what others are up to
Cheers
