In a previous job we used to induction heat steel rings of teeth for starter motors to engage on flywheels and press them onto the flywheel.
Messing about we used to heat the rings multiple times until glowing quite brightly orange hot and could quickly pick the ring up and place it on the flywheel (slipped on then too!)
They are not massively dextrous but are fingered. I'm guessing these should be man enough for arc welding spatter?
