Hi all,
I am looking for a AC/DC Tig welder, but as you know, there is a lot to choose from.
In the beginning I was looking at Jasic, Stahlwerk etc. I am looking for a machine that is of good quality, but for my hobby-use I dont want to spend a ton of money on the A-label machines (ESAB, Fronius etc).
At the moment, there is an offer in the Netherlands for the GYS207 for about € 1335,- including taxed (25% discount).
Yesterday someone told me that he wants to sell his IMS 201 AC/DC tig, 2 years old, only a few hours on it, for €1000,-.
I can't really find any evidence, but it seems like the IMS is a GYS brand? The leaflet states its also made in France.
More information on the GYS 207: http://www.finnkone.fi/sites/default/files/hitsauskone-gys-tig-gysmi_207-AC_DC-HF.pdf
More information on the 2nd hand machine: http://www.imswelding.nl/pdf_files/011724.pdf
I have a few questions for now:
- Is € 1000,- for a second hand IMS a reasonable price?
- Would it be wiser to choose the IMS or the GYS for the prices mentioned above?
- Am I (as a beginner) robbing myself by choosing these models over a Chinese machine, or will I really enjoy the extra's that the additional €250-500 brings?
Thanks in advance!
