Hi everyone,
I'm powder-coater of small parts and I'm really struggling with a decent gun upgrade.
I currently use the Electrostatic Magic single voltage gun and, i'm afraid to say, its hell. The parts I coat are very thin and narrow and I suffer really badly with picture framing. Now I know that there are other factors that can affect this including distance and air pressure and I have tried to cut out all possible things that could cause it (apart from the voltage issue obviously) and I have come to the conclusion that I need a better gun. I'm not even going to talk about the fact that you can only use it with polyester powders.....
Now i'm not flush enough to be able to buy one of the big names in the industry and nor do I need one but I'm really struggling to get information on the next step of guns in the UK. It seems that the only options I have are the Eastwood Dual Voltage setup or to start creating accounts with the big boys in order to get prices for guns that I cant and never will be able to afford.
The fact that no one in the UK seems willing to give prices for their setups is driving me mad (swap for swear words) coupled with the seeming lack of availability of intermediate level guns here is starting to make me think that the UK is a waste of space when it comes to this. If I lived almost anywhere else there seem to be large selections of guns for the level i need.
So, please, can anyone help me out? I'm currently having to look at the Eastwood dual voltage setup (when someone gets it in stock) but I would like to have other options to compare it to. I do not need a hopper fed system as I only do small things on a small scale as the cup systems are perfect. I'm also not an engineer so building my own is a little above my pay grade.
Thanks people.
Nik
