Hi, my compressor is only 6,53 cfm, looking to get a first spray gun, am I wasting my time looking at anything over this number?
Cheers.

I've been using that gun as well, it's nice. Down side is no spares available.if thats the free air delivery (F.A.D.) then I'd be looking at a lower figure for the consumption of the gun, you may want to be looking at some of the LVLP Low Volume Low Pressure spray guns. you may find even with one of them the compressor may struggle to keep up with it.
Ive got a couple of these guns

the 1.3mm uses very little air, but the 1.8mm uses significantly more and by 14.5 cfm compressor can just about keep up with it.
It's no good adding tanks as once that has depleted it takes ages to build pressure back for use again and with the increase in duty cycle your motor will probably break.Looking like I'll have to stick another tank on it it.
Oh, it's just that I read on the compressor thread it's doable, whilst not a perfect solution I could spray for longer an gaps between refill are longer. At the end of the day for a layout of £100-150 and a bit of fettling I would save the cost of a Pro spray job, which is not the finish I would get obviously andit's a rat van anyway so it will always have an 'interesting' finish.just thought if I dropped on a25ltr or used a gas bottle (I'm aware of the dangers of that) and hooked it up I might run a decent lvlp gun doing a panel at a time. Its going to be next year now I think as I would only be using cellulose and I want to avoid bloom. It's no good adding tanks as once that has depleted it takes ages to build pressure back for use again and with the increase in duty cycle your motor will probably break.
Yes I saw this last night and doesn't It take the disposable paint cups with an adaptor? Not used it but this gun is rated for low CFM.

Give them a call if unsure.

Any gun will take disposable cups if you use an adaptor ツYes I saw this last night and doesn't It take the disposable paint cups with an adaptor?
