What a touch.
I bought a set (0-1, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4) brand new in about 1970. Used the 0-1 about half a dozen times, the 3-4 once and the others not at all. The sad thing is they're not worth anything like what they should be because everyones uses digital these days.
That's correct. Not sure how good the phone is for that will try and see. They start at about 3mm and go up to 12.8mm. Actually quite useful for some things I get up toNot everyone likes Digi gear in fact many don't because a simple screw thread always works when you open the box. No batteries to go flat, no electronics to go wrong in less than ideal conditions in workshops. I literally only own several sets of Digi calipers (which i would not be without for the world) and a 0-25 Digi Mitutoyo mic which i bough when i was an apprentice many, many years ago and thats all i have. Good old fashioned gear will never let you down. If a digi goes wrong it's lost all its value even though it still maintains a micrometer head to actually measure.
Metric always seems to demand slightly better money these days than imperial for obvious reasons, i do know what you are saying though. i had a glut of measuring gear and sold a lot off and wow it wasn't worth the effort for all branded gear. I think its cheaper new import prices that has killed the second hand value or what should be gear that commands fairly good prices.
Kent is there any chance of some close ups of the what looks like little known 'ball gauges' (know incorrectly labelled because of the internet) in the wallet but obviously out of the wallet, slightly curious if thats what they are. If they are ball gauges ive not personally seen them with Mic heads on before.
Very nice hand me down all the same.

Vernier is a scaleI was given them because they won't be sold I prefer dials except on verniers as I can no longer read the line up points so well as I once could.
We were not allowed digital when I was in the machine shop
