Greets all,
I am tied as to what welder to get, have a budget of £300 for an upgrade and i think I have narrowed it down to one of 2, but would like advice please.
Mostly doign thin sheet, car panels etc, and a little bit of fab work up to 4mm - Occasionally do some work up to 8mm, but rare at the mo. Thus duty is not important.
Idealy, I would like a eurotorch version, as I plan to weld SS as well as mild and will have a second torch for this job to save time + Eurotorch are almost allways steel lined and far superior IMO.
Sealy Supermig 30-180 (Eurotorch version) with spot capable
SWP Redline 40-180 (W Eurotorch)
Seems they are both fairly evenly matched, but I am swaying towards the sealey because of the lower ampage for car panels. Or with technique is 40a not a problem? However, the SWP boasts a "large capacity filter" for smoother welding (marketing perhaps, or do they both have it?)
Wirefeed is the biggest concern, which will win over? After having a fairly poor SIP wirefeed I would like to go better!
If anybody has any 2 cents on the above with regard to wirefeed, usablility ampage etc or any other welders I have missed feel free!
Thanks,
J
