hiya lads , just got meself a giant cut 40 and need a user manual , cant find one on the net , do,s anyone have a manual , can anyone tell me what the oc light indicator is for ? any help appreciated ,, regards gaz
Hi, I got a Cut40 from plasma part, the principle is the same and the machine looks very similar. Try PLASMAPART they are a very good company. They do lots of spares. if I remember rightly you can download manuals from their site..
If you PM your email address I will send you a copy. Our latest machines are Air Start not HF but I do have an old copy relevant to HF. The HF machines are technically quite different to a Giant but operationally it should prove helpful.
The OC light shows two conditions, if the machine overheats or a protection circuit detects a high current into the inverter the OC light will come on and the inverter shuts down.
If you suspect overheating due to usage leave the machine switched on to let the fan help cool it down. The light will go off if you switch the machine OFF then back ON again after a few minutes.
If the light comes back on again the machine is still over temperature, just repeat the above again after a few more minutes.
If the light comes on when you operate the torch switch there is an electronic problem causing a high inverter current. (Needs fixing)
If the light comes on when the machine is cold and first switched ON without trying to cut, switch it OFF again. This is caused by a different type of inverter fault and the machine should repaired before trying again.
