Apparently they do here - have to stop for three seconds I’m told, a fellow Morgan driver got done.Long way to come for a stop sign though . . . ours are different . . . they don't come with a cop car just sat waiting for a start . . . I've never heard (yet) of anyone getting done for failing to come to a complete stop here.
and don't have bullet holes in themOur signs are mounted to round poles, 3" (or 76mm) IIRC, then the signs are held on with banding or U bolts.
We often used to see them hiding behind hedges in 22, just waiting to pounce. That and the plain estate cars in fields with tailgates open. 22 and 56 again.Apparently they do here - have to stop for three seconds I’m told, a fellow Morgan driver got done.
It's just a rusty old trolley, put the cad mouse down, pick up the grinder and get chopping.
These work bloody wellThe wheels are good anyway. Throw the rest and make a proper arb trolley like the Stein. It only has two wheels in the middleish and doesn't need steering.
I will actually end up with some spare wheels, maybe even some serviceable indespension units. I have a quite decent little trolley like that already so (digression) the reason I am modellling this one is that it needs to fold up easily. That means the brake mechanism and handle counterspring is doomed to be chopped up (which is a shame...)
That's the junk pile he gave me to do the job with. Cut them up he says about the precious indespension units which look perfectly serviceable. So I might just swap them out and make up a hub, unless 220mm hubs are super cheap...
Simple enough to remove the turntable & axles, cut the 100mm from the middle of the frame, weld back up & redrill the mounting holes for the turntable.
But before I'd lay a hand on that I would give it back to the owner & tell him to get it grit blasted. It will need doing anyway before painting* & will save you a lot of prep work.
*It will need painting if he wants a decent looking trolley. If a tree surgeon turned up here with a rusty trolley like that he would get chased. If he uses a trolley like that what does that say about the quality of his work if he uses shoddy looking equipment!
