Go knocking on doors with your shade and overalls with touI've just passed my MIG welding and I'm looking to now get a job but every job I see advertised wants between 3&5 years experience so how do I get into industry as Im at a looses end now
So you have the level 1 MIG/MAG welding qualification and are looking for work. The next step is to go in to companies and personally deliver your CV as this will show you are willing and also they can meet you face to face. If you just post your CV in they will often overlook it as you only have a basic welding qualification. I used to teach that qual and I'll be honest with you, it does not open many doors but, don't give up. Offer yourself to them for experience free of charge or on a trail basis. This has worked for my learners and is the advice I always give. I know you may not get paid initially but you do get that badly needed experience on your CV and a taste of welding actual parts rather than test pieces. This can also lead to a job with them if they can see you are able to be trained and have potential. You can also look at "The Agencies", as there are many companies that only hire that way.
