I know there is much advice on this forum against gasless mig welders. The main argument seems to be that they burn too hot for welding thin steel. However I wish to buy a "cheap and chearfull" machine for car bodywork. I'm looking at the Clarke 90EN as it will go down to 24 amps, where as most gas welders in my price range (eg Clarke and Sealey) only go down to 30 amps. Surely this means that the 90EN is better for thinner body panels, or am I missing the point somewhere?
As always, any advice will be much appreciated.
