I would like to form these radius corners using the pre-cutting shown in pic 1. But how do I work out the marking out without using CAD software ?
These images are from a google of "sheet metal forming trunk corners" and are from a guy showing on youtube some new features of a cad software package (he mumbles his way through... droll) This is the only forming of these corners I can find and any other hits are again referring to using a cad program to generate joints and bends. There does not seam to be any "manual" description of doing these corners.
The radius (?) are 32mm (1 1/4 ") to give some ideal of size I am after.
Did try the other cad (cardboard aided design) and can see fro this that straight lines on the cuts are not correct. This must be similar to the joining of pipes/tubes at a junction and there are lots of "wrap around" printout for these type of joints.
Last pic is of the fuel tank that these joints will be used on when redoing in ally.
