We have a set of (no laughs please) Pyraymid Gaygrip pans from 1948. Somehow the last time we moved one of the lids got lost. We want to replace it but we can't find one, seriously I've trawled scrapyards, second hand shops, came close once by finding the pan but not the lid!
So now I have a lathe, and I am thinking of making my own. Has anyone done this? I will be using aluminum sheet over a yet-to-be-made wooden former.
What are the risks, things to look for and most importantly things to get right to make it a nice job?
Cheers
