OK ladies and gents, I am replacing our kitchen at long last. I knew there would be some remedial work to do on the floor and having removed the old kitchen can now see the extent of it.
I'm going to replace the chipboard flooring before laying laminate but I am second guessing myself about what to use.
Original plane was 6 full size (1.2x2.4) sheets of 18mm OSB but I'm wondering if I would be better using exterior ply? I know there are plenty of knowledgeable folk on here so any advice is welcome.
It's 18mm T&G chipboard thats coming out but I'm not keen to go with the narrower sheets. The damage was caused years ago by a washing machine I believe. It been dry for some time but the chipboard has had it.
There's also an amazing amount of rubbish under the floor I have a previous owner to thank for. Should be easy enough to shovel out once the flooring is up.
Interestingly the kitchen that has come out is older than me. Still had the delivery notes on the back of the units, 03/1983 and it's all still solid.
