i missed out on one of these last night, the guy wanted 300 for it, but it didnt work out, gutted. ...Will just keep looking. Some nice machines do come up on the local classifieds.
I run my cold saw via a step up transformer and VFD.
My Pedrazzoli Mec Brown 75 has a 2 speed 3 phase 440v motor wired like this
As you can see, both the star and delta points are already available but both are designed to run from 440v. When low is selected T1, T2 and T3 are the phases and all the delta point are linked together, in high the delta points are wired in.
I used a 1kva step-up transformer and a 440v VFD
You can then use the 2 speed switch as normal or I rewired mine so that the switch now talks to the VFD and selects from 2 speeds that I can control via the VFD output frequency.
@citizen kane big thatnks for that info. I never did get into electronics in any detail, but I'll have a blast at reading up about it, maybe its do-able. Appreciate your showing me the components you used, makes it easier.
